The military is a very vital part of the Navarre economy as well.

Hurlburt Field employs more than 8000 military and 700 civilian personnel. Home to the Air Commando's since 1961. The base accomodates the 1st Special Operations Wing (1SOW), Headquarters Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC), and many other associate units including a fleet of CC-22 Osprey.
